Improving the "feel" seems to be a main goal of the G27, and is my greatest hope for the new model. We shall see, and I'm sure I'll end up with one if the Fanatec wheel doesn't impress though that's still unfortunately the only choice for the Too bad Microsoft won't play nice with the Logitech wheels. A G25 or G27 would be easier to justify if it worked on both consoles.
GT5 Prologue is a decent teaser of what is to come and would give you plenty to do for the coming weeks until GT5 full game arrives. There's potentially hundreds of hours of gameplay between the two.
I'd agree about the solid bit with one exception: The G25 shifter feels like it's made of fettucine. This is one of the things the G27 aims to improve upon-- sort of. The G27 will have a much firmer shifter, but that shifter won't have a sequential mode, only H-pattern-- the solidness apparently comes from removing a whole bunch of fiddly bits that let it switch. I'd actually like the extra buttons on the wheel for adjusting tires and gas and such before pit stops, but I don't think I'm willing to give up my sequential shifter Ars Tribunus Angusticlavius et Subscriptor.

There is some - realistic! What surprises some people, is that fast race cars often handle better than factory cars. But that is realistic. Grid 2 is not great in my opinion for wheel users as the drifting mechanic cannot be switched off. It suits controllers better. I have the shift games and the problems with shift 2 is well documented as being too floaty on the track. I love gt6 immensely but this is better when it come to driving satisfaction.
I'm a noob driver by the way but still love driving games. Just remember though, it doesn't have a fleshed out single player like gt6 or forza hence why I bought it at the discounted price. Skybird05 first post hits the nail on the head. That's exactly my thoughts and feeling to the letter.
