Thread starter Matched Gripper Start date Oct 23, Joined May 28, Messages 3, Reaction score 3, I have a large black LP bell with a ridge running down the length of the bell not a Ridge Rider. I think its the bell Gadd used before it was called the Gadd bell. I previously mounted it with a clamp on my bass drum tom mount post.

Worked well! However, currently, I'm playing a virgin bass drum and I can't find a good position clamping the bell to a cymbal stand. I looked at a bass hoop mount, but, I don't want to damage they hoop in the short term or long term. Any suggestions appreciated. I don't have many percussion items right now; just these two. As far as the cowbell, I have this need to suspend it on its own, somewhat elevated. Like I said, I feel the need to get some leverage on it, get it to cut through the mix.

I don't think I would put anything more than a lightweight tambourine on the hi-hat stem. I always worry about damaging anything. Thanks for the ideas. The weight and the fact that you might be hitting it pretty hard could indeed damage the hihat pin, if you place it too high up. I've always attached it right above the hihat's top cymbal, and never had any problems that way. Another issue wrt the cowbell: I don't like hitting it cross-handed.

When it was over the snare, I felt like I was coming across my body to hit it, as well as invading on my left arm playing the snare. No likey. So for me, I think it needs to be on the right side of the set somewhere. I think that the woodblock would do well over there, though. Sign up or log in Sign up using Google.
